Monaco FC has overcome Lille FC in their first leg of the Ligue 1 Champions League and advanced to the quarter-finals, securing a 2-0 win on Sunday at the Stade de France.
The match was a close affair, with Monaco holding a comfortable lead after just two minutes. However, Lille fought back and levelled the score in the 4th minute through a header from Kevin Gameiro.
In the second half, Monaco took control of the game and were able to build a solid defensive line to limit Lille's chances.
